Dr. Cory Lappin’s interest in dry eye began while he was attending The Ohio State University College of Optometry. Starting with the very first patients he saw in the college’s clinic, he found a common trend – most of the patients were struggling with dry eye but had been unable to find relief. This unmet need combined with his interest in ocular surface disease led Dr. Lappin to pursue additional training by completing a residency in Ocular Disease at the prestigious Cincinnati Eye Institute. During residency he worked in the Institute’s dry eye clinic under Dr. William Faulkner, which cemented his passion and desire to make dry eye the central focus of his career.
After completing his residency, Dr. Lappin relocated to Phoenix, Arizona to work alongside the late Dr. Art Epstein, a globally-recognized expert in dry eye and ocular surface disease, in a field-leading dry eye clinic. After practicing in the desert for five years, Dr. Lappin returned to his native Ohio to fulfill the vision he had since graduating optometry school – to create a stand-alone clinic solely dedicated to treating dry eye and ocular surface disease in all of its forms. This clinic is The Dry Eye Center of Ohio.
The Dry Eye Center of Ohio is dedicated to providing patient-centric dry eye and ocular surface disease care. It is our desire to be a place of hope for those who have long struggled with dry eye disease.
